The Summer STEM Camp program has been designed by teachers of Applied Design Skills and Technologies (ADST) to provide students with a comprehensive set of skills and knowledge that enable them to ideate, create, and apply solutions in the real world. This program will give students a foundational set of skills and knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), from which they can grow into a myriad of different interest areas such as aeronautics, engineering, architecture, applied sciences, robotics, and computer science. The Summer STEM Program also seeks to expose students to many different career options and areas of interest in the technology and science domains. Furthermore, this program will provide students with hands-on learning experiences to gain foundational skills and the confidence to further pursue STEM related areas of interest in future years.
The Summer STEM program is looking for students with a passion for technology and a drive to be lifelong learners. Each candidate must be willing to work in teams with other students from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Students at the end of the program will have a new appreciation for technological solutions and innovative ideas. This is an excellent opportunity for students who wish to preview STEM programs in high school and post-secondary institutions.
